How To Avoid Survey Scams

How To Avoid Survey Scams
By Jack Mitchell

Avoiding survey scams is not hard to do if you know the warning signs. In this article, you are going to learn the warnings signs. Educating yourself is the first step to avoid getting hit by survey scams. Today, there are many survey sites that promise large payments for answering simple questionnaires and supplying them with your opinion. Many of these sites are legit, but some are not. Let's get you educated on how to tell a survey scam from a legit survey site.

Firstly, you should NEVER have to pay a membership fee, or even a registration fee to get into a survey site. They are making money from you. Making you pay to make them even more money would be pointless, and you'd just join their competitor. Again, never pay to join a survey site.

Second, you should look for contact methods. Most survey scams will not even have a link to a contact page or support center. If you don't see either of these, big red flags should go off in your head and you should really look further into the survey site. Also, check the very bottom of the page. Sometimes survey sites include their "Contact" page in the footer of the site along with their Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, etc.

Third, you may want to do a quick Google search on the background of the survey site you are joining. A personal tip of mine is to add "scam" at the end of your search. For example, if you're considering on joining LotsOfSurveys (again, just an example), you may want to do a search for "LotsOfSurveys scam". Of course, always read the results and determine if the site is actually a scam, or if the author just broke a rule and got caught.

Paid survey sites really can be rewarding, you just have to know how to weed out the good ones from the bad ones. By using the above tips, you should be set on avoiding survey scams and sticking to the legit, paying survey sites. You can be one of the millions of Americans earning a good chunk of money from these survey sites!
