Paid Surveys - The Most Common Ones

Paid Surveys - The Most Common Ones
By Michael Russell

Even though there are paid surveys for just about everything under the sun, there are certain types of paid surveys that are more common than others and these are the ones that you're going to get the most of. By knowing what these are and what demographic they're looking for, you'll know what your chances are of getting a survey of a certain type and also what your chances are of qualifying for them. With this information, you can make an informed decision about whether or not you even want to bother doing this.

Like it or not, we still live in a stereotyped world. The man goes to work and the woman stays home and takes care of the house. So surveys geared to work are aimed at men and surveys geared to household products are aimed at women. That is just the way it is and there's nothing in the world that is going to change that stereotype.

Having said that, unfortunately for you guys, the majority of surveys that are offered by these paid survey sites are for household products. Probably the most common of all these surveys are those that ask about shopping habits. These surveys cover the whole range of just about everything that you can buy for the home from laundry detergent to dishwashing liquid. These surveys are also usually very long and therefore pay the most. The screening questions for these surveys usually ask if you do most of the shopping for the home. If you're a guy and have never bothered stepping into a supermarket, don't even bother trying to take these surveys. You won't be able to answer most of the questions anyway.

Another very common type of survey is one that asks about feminine products. These surveys will usually focus on the different brands and ask which ones you use. The surveys will then usually ask you if you would consider trying a new product and then give you the product description and price. You are then asked to evaluate the product based on that description and price. This is how companies do pre marketing analysis to determine if a product they are thinking of coming out with has a chance of being a big seller. For those wondering, this is the main reason why these paid survey sites even exist.

Another common survey today, because of the increase in technology, is the survey that asks the business owner what type of computer system he uses. The survey may go into great detail and even ask what type of applications are used. In order to break these surveys down into demographics, pre screening questions include how many employees the company has and how much money the company makes in a year. If you're a company owner or executive don't even bother taking these surveys. You'll never be able to get through them.

Obviously, there are more types of paid surveys than these, but the ones above are the ones that you will run into most often. This is why it is so hard for many people to fall into the right demographic to even qualify to take a paid survey.
